Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity is blessed to be building 8 houses in 2017 as well as several Neighborhood Revitalization and Home Repair projects. We build in Murfreesboro, Smyrna and LaVergne Tennessee.

Homeowner Bio: 

Andrew pulled a twenty-dollar bill out of his wallet, pointed to the words In God We Trust, and with conviction in his voice said, “This is why we came to America.” Andrew and Engy had a great life in Egypt. However, the one thing they longed for the most was peace of mind and freedom. Freedom to raise their family in an environment where they would be free to practice their Christian faith and feel safe. In 2013, their names were drawn in a free immigration lottery. The family took a leap of faith, left everything they had ever known, and all they had worked for, to start a new life. But Andrew and Engy’s transition to America has not been an easy one.
