Anji’s Bio:

Vision

Two years ago, Anji made a vision board. On that board she included becoming a homeowner by 2019. It is because of the Habitat Program and her dedication that her vision is becoming a reality.

Originally from East Nashville, Anji has always called Middle Tennessee her home. She currently lives in Smryna and works at Comdata in Nashville. Anji graduated from Anthem Career College as a Dental Assistant and hopes to go back to get certified as an Ultrasound Tech.

Anji first heard about the Habitat Program from a co-worker. She thought about filling out an application but the timing was not right. After continued encouragement from family and friends to apply, she felt God was leading her to this opportunity. Anji honestly did not think she would get to the next phase of the application process so when she found out she was accepted she was both surprised and excited.

Being a future homeowner in the program has taught Anji so many things. “I never knew how hard Habitat for Humanity was until I was accepted,” she admitted. “You truly work hard for what you want!” Anji goes on to explain that while she has always been good a budgeting, she has learned so much more about the importance of saving and making good, financial decisions. She has also enjoyed getting to work alongside fellow future homeowners and looks forward to applying what she has learned on her own build.

From day one, Anji’s motivation has been her daughter. Anji said, “Investing in becoming a homeowner gives me purpose to keep striving towards more goals in my life. I am a young mom and it is important to me that I model independence, strength, and hard work to my daughter. I want her to know that hard work pays off and to never give up.”

Anji is very grateful to everyone who is helping her on this journey. She is thankful to Habitat for continuing to have faith in her and to her mom who keeps her daughter while she completes her sweat equity. She is especially thankful to Exit Realty and MTSU for her panel build and to Nissan for sponsoring and building her home.
